Process to import other fruits from Vietnam
Step 1: Find out which fruits are allowed to be imported from Vietnam
Perhaps the first thing you need to do as soon as possible is to find out and check if the fruit you want to import to your country is allowed to export from Vietnam. According to the list of fresh fruit products that are not banned or restricted from being imported into Vietnam (according to the provisions of Decree No. 187/2013).
However, according to document 30/2014/TT-BNNPTNT, fruits subject to phytosanitary quarantine must be tested for the risk of causing pests before being imported into Vietnam. As a result, the fruit you plan to import from a certain country/territory may not be allowed to quarantine due to the risk of pests and diseases.
To know this, you need to contact the Plant Protection Department – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and ask for official information before deciding whether to be allowed to import fruit or not.
If the goods need to be quarantined (not banned), you continue to the next step…
Step 2: Apply for a quarantine permit
Fruit importers need to submit documents to the Ministry of Plant Protection – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for them to check, approve and allow the goods to be quarantined upon entry into Vietnam. Applications can be submitted in person at the office or by post.
