According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), due to weak demand, while domestic supply increased, in November 2021, imports of meat and meat products to Vietnam continued to decrease. For the fourth consecutive year, meat imports decreased compared to the same period in 2020.

Specifically, in November 2021, Vietnam imported 53.84 thousand tons of meat and meat products, worth 107.96 million USD, down 9.9% in volume and 0.05% in value. compared to November 2020.

In the first 11 months of 2021, Vietnam’s imports of meat and meat products reached 672.63 thousand tons, worth 1.29 billion USD, up 0.9% in volume and 14.6% in value compared to the first 11 months of 2021. same period in 2020.

In November 2021, Vietnam imported 13.21 thousand tons of fresh chilled or frozen pork, worth USD 30.35 million, down 17.2% in volume and 19.8% in value compared to the previous year. November 2020; the average import price reached 2,298 USD/ton, down 3.2% compared to November 2020.

Pork imports continue to decline due to the lack of demand, while domestic supply is high. In the first 11 months of 2021, imports of fresh chilled or frozen pork reached 148.66 thousand tons, valued at USD 343.2 million, up 21.9% in volume and 17.4% in value compared to the same period in 2020.
